uTorrent is by far one of the best and faster Bit Torrent clients. But as for the extended partition and all of its logical contained partitions my ext4 data partition is in there being the first logical partition at the beginning, to then have all the rest of the individually separated distro partitions after, to then finish off with the swap at the very end being the last. Portable version of the fast and free torrent client, uTorrent, for Windows. The majority of all Linux OS are able of being installed and have the distro image being booted for extended logicals which is perfect for being able to do this, as for this way i am still left with 3 other primary partitions to be able to use (which Windows XP currently uses one of these 3). I've set all of the individual distribution's /home partitions to all be the same one that is used as my "data" ext4 partition for being able to be sharing that same space, while individually setting the rest of the indivual OS required partitions of being within each their own individual seperate logical partitions for which all of these are all located within 1 single extended partition. (For which so far I've been using uTorrent v2 that was released in 2011 due to being their last non-advertisement cluttered release while still being able to write large files regardless of the partition's filesystem).īut I am trying to search for an updated torrent who is able to write large files on non-ntfs/non exfat partitions due to the fact that I'm also experimenting out with various numerious versions of linux distributions for which i multiboot from. Because the protocol benefits from hundreds of millions of active torrent programs installed. Once you have identified the torrent file to download, you can click or drag it into your free torrent software. Tixati was fast enough for me on a p4 with only 1gb of ram. Good luck Using Utorrent 3.2.2, all bullshit adware can be declined during the install, all adds can be disabled in 5 seconds in the settings, still super lightweight and works great. as for me I have a different type of setup for which my data partition's filesystem is ext4 and is able of still being access with the help of ext2fsd that allows me of assigning drive letters to such partitions. In order to send or receive files over the BitTorrent protocol, you need a web or desktop-based torrent client, such as BitTorrent Classic. Otherwise, definitely rTorrent or QBitTorrent. for which some reason BitComet doesn't allow me of being able to do. I personally am in the process of trying to find a Torrent client who doesn't limit the user of not being able to download 4GB exceeding single filesize into any non-ntfs/non exfat partitions. I would suggest of using BitComet since as of today they're still releasing Windows XP compatible up to date updates. Click to expand.Update: qBittorrent Torrent Client is not longer Windows XP compatible anymore ever since v4.2.x releases first introduced in December 2019īut if a Windows XP user is still interested to be using qBittorrent then they would need to be looking to grab any of the previous releases which would be any older version going up to the October 2019's v4.1.9 updated release.

For example, there was a persistent pitched kick‑drum resonance coming through the room mics at 74Hz, which reduced the bass‑note definition, and cutting that out with a notch filter tightened the low end noticeably. Some dynamics tweaks also helped tighten up the combined bass kick sound: light gating of the kick drum to reduce its LF ringing (upper screen) and ducking of the bass triggered via a side‑chain feed from the kick drum (lower screen).Because the drums had been created using Steven Slate's excellent sample collection, and because the choice and tuning of the raw sounds had been well chosen to suit the song, it wasn't actually too tough to achieve a suitable drum sound - but I did need to put in some additional work to avoid unbalancing the bass‑guitar line. So why had Johnny experienced difficulties with it? The answer is that the problems came not from the bass part, but from various other tracks that were interacting with it in the context of the full mix - chiefly, the drum tracks. Interestingly, the frequency‑balance of the supposedly problematic bass part was fine, and survived through to my final remix without any further EQ. After a trawl through some reference mixes that Johnny had sent, it was clear that extreme low frequencies played little part in the style, so I also high‑pass filtered the kick and bass (again at 20Hz) to keep them from impinging unduly on the overall mix headroom. As usual, I applied 20Hz high‑pass filtering pretty much across the board, to avoid subsonic sludge, although this was only a precaution, as none of the tracks had serious problems in that department. The simpler of the two tasks was sorting out the low end. As expected, it was these areas of the mix that demanded the lion's share of the mixing time. I asked Johnny to send his raw, unprocessed multitrack audio files, so that I could import them into my own Cockos Reaper‑based mix system. Mix Rescue | January 2011 by Sound On Sound The Secret To Bass: Everything But The Bass! Despite this, he'd been unable to get his production sonics to a state where they bore comparison with those in his record collection, so he turned to Mix Rescue for advice. Listening to Johnny's own mix of the song, it was immediately apparent that he was not only an enormously accomplished singer, but was also well aware of his chosen genre's musical and arrangement conventions. The low end of the mix was also a concern, because he'd found that the bass guitar became overbearing and rumbly well before the bass part was really audible enough in the balance.Īlthough the likes of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Saxon don't trouble the charts as often as they used to in their '80s heyday, there are, nonetheless, many musicians who still relish their classic heavy metal sounds - amongst them SOS reader Johnny Lokke, whose track 'Promises & Lies' is the subject of this month's column. No matter what he tried, though, he struggled to make his voice sit in the mix without it sounding thin, and he was even wondering if he might need to re‑record the vocals differently. This had been a long‑time source of frustration, and he'd already been right round the houses experimenting with all sorts of different processors and effects. To clear room in the mix for the bass guitar's main frequency peak, Mike cut this region from the kick drum using EQ (below).Although he was keen to pick up tips regarding all aspects of the production, his priority was to find out how to achieve an appropriate lead‑vocal sound. In the spectrum analyser display you can see the relationship between the frequency ranges of the kick drum (yellow trace) and bass guitar (red trace). This month, we hunt out the devils in the detail of a metal mix!

To them, a single key/passphrase is the only thing that matters. It seems AxCrpyt is only looking at the surface of 2FA when it comes to encryption. I wasn’t sure why, but something tells me replies from the AxCrypt employees paints a good picture of the industry’s current mindset. I’ve been finding it quite difficult to find encryption software that also uses some form of 2FA. And it does, provided you use a sufficiently strong password, which we try relatively hard to help you with. Therefore, having various additional stronger “authentication” methods does not really make sense, since we assume the attacker can get round those. In fact, the only things the attacker is not assumed to have is the password, and you (so you can’t be forced to reveal the password). – Lots and lots of hardware (think custom built supercomputers) and money, vast amounts of money (many, many millions of $). entirely offline and under the attackers control. – Tools and skill to use, write and adapt code to try passwords/keys without interference of operating system or server authentication – i.e. – All the source code and technical documentation for the application. – One or more encrypted files, and the original decrypted originals for all but the file(s) being attacked. The attacker has access to the following: Remember that AxCrypt is designed to handle the following scenario: The Google Authenticator is still about proving identity – not possessing a secret. we don’t want to add features that many users believes increases security, while in fact it does not.Ī timeout for the sign in is in the works, by popular demand. Our main issue here is that we’d like to keep AxCrypt to be about *real* security, not *perceived*. With encryption, that doesn’t make sense, because there is no identity claim involved, it’s just about either posessing or not posessing the decryption key.Īll that being said, we’re thinking about the possibility of some hybrid system if we can figure something out that makes sense both from a security point of view, and from a user point of view. Two-factor authentication is about providing stronger evidence to support your identity claim. Encryption is not really about proving anything, it’s about either knowing or not knowing an encryption key. In the physical world, this might be a passport for example. to provide evidence to support the claim. Authentication is about proving to a system that you are who you claim to be, i.e. I’ll be writing a longer text on Authentication vs. With a background in early childhood education, Morgan is well versed in working with and understanding the needs of aspiring vocalists. It was pure joy! Sharon taught me to believe in myself and to have fun singing. Our choir performed 5 songs at the New Horizon Mall, after just 5 weeks together. February, 2019, I joined Calgary's COOL choir. This small success gave me the courage to fulfill another dream that of singing in a fun choir. At the end of my last year with her, I faced an enormous fear and sang two songs in front of approximately 50 people. She was very supportive in helping me overcome my fears around performing in front of others. It wasn't easy to teach an old dog new tricks however, with immense persistence, patience, talent & ability, she taught me how to breathe properly, maximize my voice range and sing in tune. Sharon was very accommodating of my many stops and starts due to travel, etc. I attended lessons very sporadically over three years or so. ) Outside of the shower though, my family, often, lovingly, teased me. Don't get me wrong, my voice sounded heavenly in the shower. All of my life, I longed to feel comfortable either singing at church or other group settings. DIY store drills are best avoided, buy from someone selling to metalworkers.Īssuming your stud is hardened within ordinary limits, I'd try a TCT drill as offered for drilling stainless steel. HSS coated with yellow TiN, Cobalt (5 or 8%), Coated Cobalt, Carbide Tipped (TCT), solid Carbide, and exotics like Diamond or Boron Nitride. Various choices for these, in rough order of rising hardness and cost. Other hardened metals are too hard for HSS, or at least blunt it rapidly. (Basically pressing hard enough to cut, but not overdoing it. Do you know what it is? Stainless steel work hardens but can be drilled with ordinary HSS provided the right technique is used. To get an idea of what's available, prices and 'good' brands have a look at RS Components. We had one welder who was so good he could build up a pillar on a 3mm stud and successfully get the offending stud out. I have never failed to extract a broken stud in this manner in forty years since I got a mig welder! Use an aluminium bush to prevent the weld and spatter sticking to the surrounding metal. The heat of the weld is almost always enough to free off the stud and is a simple twist-out job. Personally I wouldn't attempt to drill a hardened steel stud unless it was with a drill press or mill and with the component clamped in place.Ī far better way is to build up a pillar of weld on the exposed end of the stud using a mig welder, then when the pillar is high enough to then weld a suitable nut on top of the whole lot. I don't know what your broken stud is screwed in to, aluminium, steel or cast iron. These will be used in an electric hand drill not a pillar drill or lathe. I want to get 4mm, 6mm and 7.5mm drill bits. I'd appreciate what good brands to look at. What tip angel and helix angle do I need? Seeing references to these on the internet has blown my mind. I think I need cobolt, is this correct 5% or 8%? I am confused as to what type of drill bit I need to drill a hardened steel stud that has snapped due to someone's ham fistedness. Less frantic than Beirut and definitely going back for the festival next year. Had a great stay for about 8 nights at Canari de Byblos and wished I could've stayed in Jbeil for longer. Internet at the hotel was not a problem for me as I was travelling laptop free and there's an internet cafe at CD Master across from the souk which is in a small shopping arcade with a gym downstairs a bit hard to find but cheap and helpful with good connection and printing facilities. It's not really all that sandy but there's a simple little open style cafe that's good for every taste where you can sit in the shade and have fast food or full cafe style Lebanese food cheaply. Visited the public beach which is way cheaper than visiting Edde Sands (USD$20 entry): LLB £3 for a sunlounger and then you can order beer, soft drinks, nargile and food brought to you. Pizza Napoli around the back of the souk on the way to the Old Port is the best pizza in Lebanon - Beirutis drive up there just for pizza!!! Old Port has fabulous views in the evenings although restaurants are a bit expensive at this end of the town but in the town centre itself there's an amazing family style restaurant that does scrumptious shish tawook and the fruit cocktails are out of this world. Staff were really good at exchanging money and the service was very friendly and helpful.Īs for Jbeil itself, quite a lively place, good souk souvenir shopping, lots of bars and cafes courtyard is lovely with a lot of variety for food from cheap to expensive plus there's a busker near the gate of the castle. True, it's a 10-15mins walk from the souk but it's very handy for all sorts of things: cash machine out the front, shopping centre down the road with a great cafe Moka & More, Bou Khalil supermarket close by, grocery market for fresh fruit across the road and a few takeaway shops and patisseries along the way.īreakfast was generous for room service (1 of 2 rooms booked into the hotel) and buffet was fine.
